Job Description

Description:

More than a decade ago, Ledge introduced America to the first-in pool chaise and modern design forward

furniture for a more compelling outdoor living experience. Today the award-winning brand is recognized

as the in-pool and poolside leader, adopted by discerning homeowners and five star resort and residential

properties around the world.

Our continued success is very much a consequence of our team members, the Ledge culture of

collaboration and innovation, and our unwavering belief in the importance of design distinction in

everything we do.

Job Overview:

Ledge is seeking an Industrial Designer who combines creative exploration, strong visual communication

and practical manufacturing awareness. This role helps shape products from early concept through

design-intent lock and into production, creating experiences that are innovative, beautiful and

unmistakably Ledge. The Industrial Designer collaborates closely with the Industrial Design core team,

Engineering and other product-development partners to create the best products in and around the pool.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Explore early product ideas through the method best suited to the challenge, including sketching, 3D CAD and physical prototyping, to establish a compelling experience goal.
  2. Refine the user experience through disciplined iteration, moving concepts from experience goal to design-intent lock with clarity and purpose.
  3. Develop design-intent CAD and provide a complete, accurate handoff to Engineering.
  4. Partner with Engineering throughout design for manufacture, protecting the product's core ethos, user experience and critical design details while responding constructively to technical constraints.
  5. Deliver design work, decisions and handoffs according to agreed project timelines and quality expectations.
  6. Present concepts and recommendations clearly to the core team and cross- functional partners, incorporating feedback without losing sight of the design objective.
  7. Use sketches, CAD models, prototypes and other visual tools to communicate concepts, decisions and design details throughout the development process.
  8. Continuously strengthen knowledge of materials, manufacturing capabilities and product- development practices, then apply that learning to future work.

What Success Looks Like:

• Creates user delight through thoughtful, innovative design solutions.

• Produces beautiful, brand-right products with a strong point of view.

• Delivers innovative and aesthetically compelling design work on time.

• Collaborates effectively with the core team and cross-functional partners.

• Balances curiosity and coachability with appropriate leadership for the role level.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of portfolio strength and relevant experience.
  • A portfolio demonstrating strong concept development, form exploration, user-centered thinking and products advanced toward manufacture.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD, design visualization and sketch-based communication.
  • Ability to create and evaluate prototypes at the appropriate level of fidelity for the project phase.
  • Working knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, with an eagerness to deepen technical understanding.
  • Strong presentation, collaboration and feedback-integration skills.
  • Sound judgment, attention to detail and consistent follow-through in a deadline-driven product environment.
  • Ability to work on-site in Katy, Texas and collaborate closely with Design, Engineering and Manufacturing partners.

At Ledge, we value diversity and inclusion and are committed to providing equal employment

opportunities to all individuals. We offer a competitive salary, benefits package, and the opportunity to

work with a dynamic team in a positive and supportive work environment.
